Instead of the wooden ramps common in the industry, our consolidated containers use modern steel racks. Vehicles are secured with tie-down straps attached directly to the wheels – no contact with body panels, no risk of damage. The system takes up to five vehicles per container, safely and at an excellent price-performance ratio, and is recognized worldwide as one of the most efficient and secure shipping methods available.

FR Safe Pay protects your money at every stage of buying and shipping a vehicle —
from the first contact with the seller until the vehicle is handed over to you.
You transfer the purchase amount to our partner’s U.S. account. We then contact the seller and carry out a test transfer to confirm the banking details are correct and rule out any surprises.
When the vehicle is collected, our transport provider checks the vehicle identification number (VIN). Once it matches the vehicle documents, the purchase amount is released to the seller in real time – and only then does your vehicle start its journey.

Vehicle Registration & Homologation in Europe
Before your imported vehicle can be driven legally on European roads, it needs a TÜV inspection. That often calls for technical adaptation (homologation) or minor modifications – which is where our partner network comes in.
CFR has worked for years with specialist workshops located just around the corner from our warehouse in Bremerhaven. We put you in direct contact with these partners, who collect your vehicle, carry out the technical work, and arrange the TÜV inspection. Because they are nearby, your vehicle doesn’t have to travel across the country – everything is handled quickly and locally.
That way you can be confident your vehicle meets European registration standards and is ready to register once the work is done. On request, CFR also supports you with vehicle inspections, document checks, and transport preparation – all from one provider.

GENERAL CARGO
We ship more than vehicles. Auto parts for classic cars, motorcycles, trailers, and ATVs, plus household goods and other commercial cargo, all move from the USA to Germany with us.
RORO SHIPPING
If your vehicle is too large for a container, we can ship it roll-on/roll-off (RoRo): the vehicle is driven aboard a dedicated car carrier under its own power and driven off again at the destination. RoRo is also worth considering when you ship from a port with little container traffic, where it often cuts the wait by weeks.

Auto parts and commercial goods leave less room for error than most freight. Deadlines have to hold and cargo has to arrive intact, because factories, suppliers, and customers downstream are waiting on it.
We have been doing this for years — commercial goods, household goods, and special shipments, including oversized and general cargo.
SHIPPING Auto PARTS AND CARGO
Need parts for a classic, a car, or a motorcycle shipped from the USA to Germany? We will handle it. Plenty of U.S. dealers, and private sellers in particular, either refuse to ship overseas or quote an eye-watering price for it.
We coordinate with the shipper, pick the parts up inside the USA, and bring them to Bremerhaven in our consolidated containers. Customs clearance happens here, and we deliver to your door if you want. If a seller only ships within the USA, we take the goods in at one of our warehouses instead.
Two things to tell your seller: we can only collect items that are properly packed — crates or boxes, with engines and transmissions strapped to a pallet. And please do not send us individual packages or suitcases; a parcel carrier will do that for less.
- AUTO PARTS AND GENERAL CARGO
Importing auto parts and general cargo, as well as transporting commercial goods, requires experience. More than anywhere else in the shipping industry, efficiency and precision are key when it comes to shipping this type of freight.
Deadlines must be met, and cargo must arrive safely at its destination without interruption, since businesses, suppliers, factories, and other third parties depend on this freight.
Of course, we also have many years of experience transporting commercial goods, household goods, and special shipments, including oversized cargo and general cargo.
SHIPPING OF SPARE PARTS AND CARGO
We’re happy to assist you with shipping spare parts for classic cars, automobiles, motorcycles, or other commercial products from the USA to Germany. Many U.S. dealers, and private sellers in particular, either refuse overseas shipping or offer it at inflated prices.
In coordination with the shipper, CFR Carshippers handles pickup within the USA and onward transport to Bremerhaven in our consolidated containers. Customs clearance takes place here, along with final delivery if requested. Some sellers only offer domestic U.S. shipping, in which case we receive the goods at one of our warehouses for shipment.
Please advise your seller that we can only pick up items and parts that are adequately packaged – for example, packed in crates or boxes, with engines and transmissions securely strapped to a pallet.
Please refrain from requesting shipment of individual packages or suitcases – parcel carriers can offer this service at a lower cost.
- BOATS AND TRAILERS
Vehicles are what we are known for, but we are also one of the largest shippers of boats and watercraft from the United States and Canada to the rest of the world. Shipping a boat looks complicated from the outside. Ten minutes with one of our experts and it stops looking that way.
BOAT TRANSPORT
Some boats fit inside ocean containers, and our loading crews know how to stow them. For boats that do not fit, there are three routes:
Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo): for boats on their own road trailer
Lift-on/Lift-off (LoLo): for boats lifted aboard by crane
Open-top or flat-rack containers: for large yachts
- SCHOOL BUSES, RVS, AND TRAILERS
A lot of our customers want to travel with their RV or trailer, or buy one in the USA, Canada, or Dubai. U.S. school buses are popular too, and we bring them into Bremerhaven regularly. Food trucks are showing up more and more.
Buses, food trucks, and tractors need a large vessel or a ferry. A school bus is driven aboard and driven off again at the destination — it just has to be empty and running.

China is the world’s largest vehicle market, so of course we ship there — by container or RoRo, with container transport moving by sea or by rail. We collect anywhere in Europe, or you can deliver the vehicles yourself to our Bremerhaven terminal, which was built for exactly this.
China is now the second-largest importer of goods after the United States, and a serious market for German companies: more than €70 billion in shipments from Germany every year. Trading there is more demanding than trading inside the EU, largely because of the import rules. Here is what you need to have in order.
REQUIRED ACCOMPANYING DOCUMENTS
Commercial invoices (2 copies) with all standard trade information and a signature, including:
- Name and address of the consignee and the seller
- Precise description of goods
- HS tariff code
- Unit price and total price
- Separate statement of FOB value, CIF costs, and CIF value

BREMERHAVEN LOCATION
Most German warehouses handle cars because they have to. Ours was built for it.
Seven ramps load and unload ocean containers at our vehicle terminal, with more than 10,000 m² (108,000 sq ft) under roof and under camera. Your cargo stays out of the weather and in view the entire time.
Our own crew handles every vehicle. We keep them trained and the equipment current, because both show up in the condition of the car. Every car and motorcycle gets a photo condition report on arrival and another on dispatch — standard, not an add-on.
Door to door, anywhere in the world: say the word and we pick the vehicle up at your address and deliver it where you want it. Classics and new vehicles are our specialty, and we move plenty of commercial freight, household goods, and project cargo besides, including oversized loads and LTL freight.
